How much freezer space do I need?

One cubic foot for 30-35 lbs. of beef. The empty freezer compartment of an average-sized home refrigerator will usually hold 50 lbs of beef. ½ beef requires a minimum of 8 cubic feet. Whole beef requires a minimum of 12-16 cubic feet.

Where is your beef processed?

Our beef is processed at Boone’s Butcher Shop at 100 Old Bloomfield Pike, Bardstown, KY 40004. Phone 502-348-3668. Boone’s is a third generation, family owned business that has been in business since 1946. They do a great job and are committed to keeping the traditional butcher shop alive in Kentucky.

Where do I pick up my whole or half beef?

You will pick up your beef at Boone’s Butcher Shop.

How is the meat packaged?

The retail cuts we have are vacuum packed. The butcher offers meat packaged in white butcher paper as well.

Can I get the organ meat?

Yes, upon request you can get liver and heart. You can also get tongue and oxtail as well.

How long will my beef last in the freezer?

Vacuum packed beef will last up to 3 years in the freezer. Beef wrapped in white butcher paper will last for up to 12 months.

What breed of cattle do you use?

 We raise Black Angus beef.

How much beef should I buy?

Eating beef twice a week will take a family of four approximately one year to eat ½ beef, or six months to eat a quarter.

Do you ship?

Yes, shipping is available to just about anywhere in the United States. Our standard shipping method is UPS ground. Our standard shipping policy is to ship no more than 2 days in the summer months and no more than 3 days in the winter months. Our shipping boxes are insulated to help keep the meat frozen as long as possible. Our boxes can hold up to 50 pounds, depending on the cut and size. Shipping and Handling costs vary depending on the destination of the shipment.
